One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting near a migrant shelter on New York City’s Randalls Island early Monday, authorities said.
According to the New York Police Department, police responded to a call at 71 Wards Meadow Loop Field around 3:30 a.m. and found three gunshot victims.
Police said a 44-year-old woman was shot in the face and back, a 32-year-old man was shot in the throat and a 31-year-old woman was shot in the back.
All three victims were taken to Harlem Hospital, where the 44-year-old woman was pronounced dead. The other two were in stable condition as of Monday morning.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Police said the investigation is continuing but no arrests have been made.

Authorities did not provide any details about the suspect when contacted by Fox News Digital. WABC Television, Police said they were searching for at least two men, one of whom reportedly fled on a moped and the other in a car with New Mexico license plates.

Last month, a 25-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder at a migrant shelter on Randalls Island. Police subsequently arrested two suspects, identified as brothers Josés Deléon, 19, and Moises Deléon, 27. Both men were charged with assault, police said in a statement.
Recent violent incidents near other city-run migrant shelters have infuriated some city residents.
In Brooklyn, residents organized on Sunday to protest a surge in violence, piles of trash and constant fights stemming from a massive complex housing some 4,000 immigrants.
