Two men were killed and a third was left life-threatening after two shootings that happened just minutes apart near a migrant shelter in Brooklyn on Sunday night, police and law enforcement sources said.

According to police and officials, a man in his 30s was shot in the chest and arm at about 10:44 p.m. in a park near Flushing Avenue and Steuben Street outside the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Police said the victim was rushed to Methodist Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

About seven minutes later, two men were shot outside a migrant shelter at 29 Ryerson St., less than a quarter mile from the scene of the first shooting, according to the New York Police Department.

A 47-year-old man was shot in the head and later pronounced dead in hospital, while the other victim, believed to be in his 30s, was shot multiple times and remains in critical condition in hospital.

Law enforcement sources said preliminary information indicated the shootings appeared to be related and that all the victims were immigrants.

Investigators are looking into whether moped-riding members of the Venezuelan gang El Tren de Aragua were involved in the shooting, the sources said.

No arrests had been made as of early Monday morning.

The Ryerson Street shelter was opened by the city in April and was set up to house as many as 765 adult, single migrant residents. BK Leader reported.
