Six Chinese Nationals Caught on Isolated Texas Ranch During Unsuccessful Border Crossing

Border Patrol and Texas Authorities Capture Illegal Aliens

Border Patrol agents, alongside Texas Highway Patrol, apprehended two groups of illegal aliens trying to evade authorities in Eagle Pass, Texas. In total, 19 individuals were captured, including six Chinese nationals identified as special interest aliens (SIAs) by the Department of Homeland Security.

Under the Biden administration, there have been thousands of illegal border crossings daily near small Texas towns. However, the Trump administration’s new security measures have significantly reduced such attempts. While the “catch and release” policy has been mostly eliminated, a persistent number of illegal immigrants still try entering the country, often using remote ranches to avoid detection.

The group apprehended in Maverick County included seven individuals from five different countries: Mexico, Guatemala, India, Ecuador, and Cuba. This group was captured at a remote ranch with help from the Texas Department of Public Safety’s K-9 Tracking Team.

Later that evening, agents arrested another group of 12 illegal immigrants, which included six Chinese nationals dressed in camouflage. This arrest illustrates ongoing law enforcement efforts to combat criminal activities at the southern border and underscores the collaboration between Texas DPS and federal agents as part of Operation Lone Star, according to a spokesperson.

Since strict border control measures were implemented under President Trump, the number of Chinese nationals attempting to cross has notably decreased, addressing concerns related to that country. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported that nearly 40,000 Chinese nationals were arrested while entering the U.S. via the Southwest border in 2024, while only 334 were captured in the first seven months of fiscal year 2026.

CBP officials noted that tactics like utilizing remote locations or wearing camouflage to avoid arrest aren’t foolproof. They shared with Breitbart Texas that illegal crossings have diminished at the Southwest border. The elimination of “catch and release” has enabled Border Patrol to focus on areas that previously lacked regular oversight. Additionally, collaboration with the Texas Department of Public Safety has further enhanced efforts to deter groups of illegal border crossers.
