Get your act together Olympians. There’s a new MVP in town.
After nearly a week of competing in various events with the U.S. national team, Snoop Dogg boldly declared himself the Olympic Athlete of the Year.
The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” hitmaker, 52, who carried the torch ahead of the opening ceremony, has been bringing the fun by attending all the sporting events in Paris.
“Man, this is a tough place,” the rapper said. NBC host Mike Tirico said: “But it’s a lot of fun,” he said during Wednesday’s broadcast.
“Mike, I could be the MVP of the Olympics, I’m just saying,” he joked.
And if there was a gold medal for cheerleaders at this year’s Olympics, this rap icon would definitely win it.
The “The Next Episode” hitmaker is currently serving as a special correspondent for NBC during the Olympics and will appear regularly on “Primetime in Paris.”
The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., met with the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps, for swimming lessons earlier this week.
“Now, MP, how do you get so fast in the pool?” Dogg asks Phelps in the clip. Share with X Tuesday.
“Wingspan, lung capacity,” the retired athlete said, to which the rapper replied, “You described me so well. You said wingspan, you said lung capacity. I definitely have great lung capacity.”
Meanwhile, the rapper traveled by bus and train with the U.S. men’s basketball team on their way to Lille, France, where the group stage is being played.
“There was a strong sense of brotherhood and camaraderie. You could sense the players putting their egos aside at the door,” he said of the team led by Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
“I think they know what this is about. They know this team was put together with the mentality of the best players representing their country, reminiscent of the ‘Dream Team.’ This is not about me, this is about us.”
The “Young, Wild and Free” hitmaker also voiced her overwhelming support for Team USA’s women’s gymnastics.
The rapper was spotted chatting with Simone Biles’ family during the Olympics, which her team won this week and earned a gold medal at the Games.
With this historic win, Biles became the most decorated gymnast in U.S. history.
