Actor Brian Cox has said that the Bible is “one of the worst books ever written” and claimed that religion prevents people from evolving.
A person who identifies as a socialist commented. In an interview with The podcast “Starting Line” was released on Sunday. Cox was explaining why society needs to become more matriarchal and how patriarchy fails to fully express our humanity.
Cox said of women: “We have to respect them, we have to give them a place, and we’re resisting that, so that’s what we deserve.” Ta.
“It’s Adam and Eve. Propaganda goes way back. From my point of view, the Bible is one of the worst books of all time, because it starts with an idea.” [about] Adam’s rib,” he added, “You know, this woman was created from Adam’s rib, and they believe that, because they’re stupid enough.”
He went on to say that the Bible story is a lie and propaganda.
“They need it, but they don’t have to lie,” he explained. “You know, they need some kind of truth, and it’s not the truth. It’s not the truth, it’s a myth.”
He went on to say that humanity would be able to evolve faster if religion was abolished.
“We have not grown up. We have not grown up. Our existence has not even gone beyond the baby stage,” he said.
“Fundamentally, humans are screwed. Basically, they’re screwed. And they have been,” Cox continued. “And they won’t do anything about it and will continue to mess up because they’re really stupid. That’s the thing about humanity, that it’s very, very stupid. ”
He also called the theater the only true church after explaining that religion prevents people from looking within, while acting reflects nature.
“That’s the great thing about my job. It’s my job, what Shakespeare would call it, to hold up a mirror to nature so we can reflect things back to the rest of humanity.” Cox said.
“That is why the theater is the only true church of all churches, because it is the church of humanity,” he asserted.
“It’s people who are dealing with all the things we face every day and the false gods we’ve created for ourselves,” he concluded. “And anyway, the concept of the word ‘God’ is kind of a conceit, a terrible conceit that we don’t really acknowledge in the way that we should be acknowledged.”
Cox has completed four seasons as a lead actor on HBO’s hit series Succession.
