Mother Thrown from Window by Son Faces Legal Outcome

A man, struggling with drug addiction, might spend 25 years behind bars after being convicted of attempted murder. George Tsintselis, age 37, was found guilty on Friday for seriously injuring his mother, 64-year-old Paraskevi Tsintselis, during a money dispute that escalated on November 15, 2024, Queens prosecutors reported.

Despite suffering grave injuries, Paraskevi managed to survive the fall and made the tough choice to testify against her son during the trial, according to District Attorney Melinda Katz.

“The defendant threatened his mother with a knife and then pushed her out of a third-story window,” Katz stated. “This was a senseless act of violence that shattered a family.”

In an interview from her hospital bed last year, a distressed mother shared that her son had been terrorizing her for years, demanding money for drugs and resorting to violence.

Their troubled relationship culminated in the shocking incident. “He had a knife in his hand and said, ‘Don’t yell at me or I’ll stab you,’” Paraskevi recalled. “He was breaking things, including a picture frame of his daughter, and he just wouldn’t leave.”

“He was smoking drugs in the house and blowing it in my face. I was really scared of him,” she continued. “Whatever situation the devil is in, it’s still the devil. I’m just sorry for my words.”

During the attack, George, who had assaulted her previously, forced his mother to the window ledge. “He pushed me hard with both hands,” she remembered. “After that, I don’t know what happened. The next thing I knew, I was in the hospital.”

Against the odds, Paraskevi survived the fall, sustaining a brain hemorrhage, a fractured shoulder, broken limbs, internal bleeding, and multiple facial fractures.

Queens Supreme Court Judge Peter Vallone, who oversaw the trial, is set to sentence George Tsintselis to a maximum of 25 years in prison on January 21, as announced by the prosecutors.
