Executive Producer The Sound of Freedom A new film has been released that aims to remind Americans of the harsh reality that child trafficking happens in America too. City of Dreams (R) tells the story of a boy who was trafficked across the border and forced to work in poor working conditions in Los Angeles, shattering his dreams of becoming a soccer star.
Producer Sean Wolfington helped bring the film to the big screen. The Sound of FreedomA 2023 blockbuster that puts the spotlight on international child trafficking.
An estimated 12 million children worldwide are victims of human trafficking.
“The Sound of Freedom It shows what's happening around the world. City of Dreams “It shows that it's happening right next to us,” Wolfington told Crosswalk Headlines.
City of Dreams The film was inspired by true events involving director Mohit Ramchandani's father. Wolfington said he felt “called” to make the film. City of Dreams and The sound of freedom.
“Mo's father was raised as a slave from the age of 7,” Wolfington says. “Mo came to Los Angeles more than 20 years ago to make films, hoping that one day he'd be able to tell his story. He made several films, but on his deathbed, his mother told Mo about a life insurance policy she had taken out and encouraged him to use it to tell the story he wanted to tell. City of DreamsThe film was inspired by his father, but is actually based on some true stories that unfortunately happened in America.”
He added that the current number of 12 million child slaves in the world exceeds the total number of child slaves enslaved throughout the entire 300 years of the transatlantic slave trade.
“This is a $150 billion industry and there are very powerful trafficking cartels,” he said.
The boy in the movie fights back.
“He never gave up and, against all odds, risked everything to free himself and the other captive children,” Wolfington said. “This is an incredibly powerful film – a gripping heroic thriller, but more importantly, it's an inspiring film. We hope that everyone who sees it will be inspired to join the fight to protect and save these innocent children.”

“Tens of thousands of children were liberated The Sound of Freedom “We know that there are 20 laws now in place to protect children because of people who saw the film and took action,” he said.
“And when people see that, that's our goal and our hope. City of DreamsThey're going to take action in every way they can.”
“City of Dreams” is rated R for scenes of intense violence, including child abuse, gore, foul language, sexual content and partial nudity.
