South Korean blast-each President Yoon Soo-Yeol was released from prison on Saturday after the court allowed the arrest to cancel and endure the insurrection trial without being physically detained.
This led to political turmoil in the country after Yoon was arrested and charged by prosecutors in January on December 3rd on his martial law order, and the National Assembly voted to reverse a few hours later. The Parliament also voted to fire him each, bringing him to the suspension of office.
Yoon waved his hand on Saturday, clenched his fist, yelling his name, bowing to his supporters waving the Korean and American flags. He entered a black van to travel to his residence in Seoul.

In a statement, Yoon said, “We are grateful for the courage and decision by the Seoul Central District Court to correct the illegality.” He also thanked his supporters and urged those on hunger strikes against his blast each to end it.
The Constitutional Court is deciding whether to formally dismiss Yoon as president or revive him. If the court supports his blast each, a new presidential election will be held within two months.
The Seoul Central District Court said on Friday it accepted Yoon's request to be released from prison, pointing out the need to address questions about the legality of the president's investigation.

Yoon's lawyers argued that the investigators that detained him prior to his formal arrest had no legal authority to investigate charges of the rebellion.
A Seoul court also said the legal period for his formal arrest had expired prior to his indictment.
Yoon's release from prison comes after prosecutors opposed sueing a ruling by the Seoul Central District Court. South Korean law allows prosecutors to continue detaining suspects in pursuit of appeal, even after the arrest is cancelled by the court.

The major Liberal Democrats who led Yoon's blast each in December criticized the prosecutor's decision not to appeal, labeling him as a former prosecutor “hnchman.”
Democratic spokesman Jung Seung Lai has called on the Constitutional Court to dismiss Yoon as soon as possible to avoid further public anxiety.
