“Oh my goodness. My goodness, was the first half as bad as I thought it would be? That game … had no flow,” he said. “… It’s a high school game, so you can’t say, ‘What the hell was that?'”

“Yes you can!” another person agreed, and Moore explained that it was against “policy” to criticize high school athletes on air.

“No. Maybe I would do that in a college game, but not in a high school game,” Moore said. “Actions have consequences. That’s my policy. It’s beneath my integrity to criticize high school players. I’ll try to do it nonchalantly, but I’m just going to say this game sucks.”

“… About 30 minutes into the game, my mind flipped a switch that said, ‘Let’s kill me right now.’ If they keep kicking the ball out of bounds and misplacing passes all day, maybe I should just go home… I just want to score a header from the top of the press box.”

“Unfortunately, it’s too low. It’s not life-threatening. It doesn’t look like he’s even trying to pass the ball. He’s just throwing the ball down the field. I wish he had a little technique. What on earth are they teaching these kids in practice? It’s unbelievable.”

According to the outlet, the video was taken by a parent at the game venue, who then sent the footage to Awful Announcing.

The football game, a third-place match between Rose Hill and McPherson in the Kansas State Class 4A-1A Championship Tournament at Stryker Sports Complex in Kansas, was streamed live online Saturday on the NFHS Network streaming service.

Moore also said one of the highlights of her job was seeing the mothers of female soccer players attend the games.

“But what’s the bonus for calling high school football? Girls’ football? For high school kids? Soccer moms,” he said.

“That’s right, baby. Up there, baby,” he said, “… the one facing me? See if she can rip it off… I can’t see her legs, but I can feel her ass hitting me from here.”

Another person can be heard saying: “She’s got nice curves… age is nice here too.”

Meanwhile, the Britney Spears song “Toxic” was playing in the background.

Moore later acknowledged that he would be “in trouble” if anyone had overheard the conversation.

“By the way, this conversation never actually happened,” Moore said. “We would have gotten into trouble. [inaudible name] We’ve been sitting in that chair. We’ve been in this business a long time, so we know what to do.

“Okay, okay, I think I’ve got it all out. Let’s get on the mic again and sing our hearts out.”

Moore apologized in a statement, calling his comments “disrespectful” and “inexcusable.”

“I apologize to the Rose Hill and McPherson schools, players, coaches, families and communities for the comments I made last Saturday,” Moore said in a statement to Awful Announcements. “They were insensitive, foolish and inexcusable. Those comments do not reflect the great seasons and hard work both teams put in during the year. I would like to thank the KSHSAA and NFHS for the privilege of calling the games on their networks. I am truly and deeply sorry for my insensitive and hurtful comments and ask for forgiveness to those hurt by my words.”

It is unclear whether he carried out his role with discipline.
