The spouse of missing Virginia football coach Travis Turner has removed her social media accounts. This comes just as his family was about to find out that he possessed a firearm after disappearing amid a child pornography investigation.
Leslie Caudill Turner, who has been married to Mr. Turner for 25 years, suddenly vanished from online platforms last week after law enforcement issued a 10-count arrest warrant for her husband linked to charges involving child pornography and aiding in those activities.
Before his disappearance, Leslie was quite active on Facebook, sharing updates about her high school team’s successes, showing her pride as a coach’s wife and mother of three. It’s strange because, normally, she would post regularly, so her absence is noticeable.
She had used social media to keep people informed when her husband, a prominent coach at Union High School in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, was reported missing. He left their home on November 20, as police were heading there to question him regarding the ongoing investigation.
Just days later, authorities revealed he was wanted on five counts of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor, which, honestly, is shocking.
As the search for Turner continues, the family’s attorney shared that he was last seen leaving his home with a gun, heading into a wooded area, which is really concerning.
“The last contact with Travis was around November 20, shortly before he walked into the woods with a firearm,” Adrian Collins, the family’s lawyer, stated. He mentioned there were no arrest warrants issued at that point.
The attorney also noted that the family is working with law enforcement while conducting their own search efforts.
“They are hoping for Mr. Turner’s safety and that he can defend himself in court,” the lawyer added. I mean, that’s a pretty human thing to wish for, right?
In the meantime, Turner’s family has refuted the allegations, describing him as a “good father and husband.” Leslie expressed her disbelief, saying, “None of that is true. I don’t understand anything. I don’t understand anything. I’m sorry.” It’s just a tough situation all around.
