Staffing Match worker Salman Iftikhar threatened a flight attendant during a first-class incident.

A wealthy entrepreneur, inebriated, faced sentencing after making a disturbing threat towards a flight attendant on a Virgin Atlantic flight. Salman Iftical was sentenced to 15 months in prison for his conduct on a flight from London to Lahore, Pakistan, which occurred on February 7, 2023.

During the flight, he reportedly shouted, “Don’t teach the racist F-King Bitch. I know where you came from in Cardiff,” according to reports.

The incident escalated after the first meal service on what was supposed to be an eight-hour trip. Iftical, 37, consumed champagne, then in a bizarre act, used his hands to grab ice onboard.

Traveling with his wife and three kids, he caused a scene, defying requests from the crew to return to his seat. His anger was palpable as he accused the flight attendants of racism, claiming, “You called me P-Ki in front of everyone.”

Other passengers began recording the outburst. Iftical continued his tirade, asserting dominance over the crew and even threatening one flight attendant. Notably, the flight crew alerted the pilot, and the seatbelt sign was turned on, hoping that would calm him down.

However, Iftical only grew more defiant, lashing out at the crew with slurred speech. At one point, his wife attempted to intervene, but he obstructed her from speaking with the staff.

He then confronted a male attendant, Tommy Merchant, demanding, “Do you know who I am? F-K off. You need to know who I am,” escalating the chaos further.

To make matters worse, Iftical threatened to attack the crew using the room number of their hotel in Lahore, making horrific comments about violence. He referred to one attendant using a derogatory term and threatened her with sexual violence.

The resulting trauma led the affected flight attendant to take 14 months off from work. She expressed her distress, stating, “I’ve been the best at my job for 37 years; he took it from me.” Her long career included significant events, such as flying during 9/11.

Iftical, who holds a position as the founder and director of a recruitment firm, faced no immediate arrest upon landing in Pakistan. His arrest happened over a year later, on March 16, 2024, at his luxury home in Iver, England, near London.

He pleaded guilty to the charges of making threats and racial harassment against the flight attendants but was not charged for assault. His defense claimed he experienced “amnesia loss” during the incident.
