Senator Smith Discusses Tax Concerns
During a recent appearance on News Nation’s “Cuomo,” Senator Adam Smith (D-WA) emphasized the significance of state and local taxes, particularly in his state. However, he pointed out that the main issue at the federal level revolves around tax cuts leading to diminishing revenue, which he views as a major concern.
Smith mentioned that this situation is partly linked to continuous tax cuts since 2001. He expressed a belief that many people feel taxed enough and are frustrated by the repeated calls for state tax reductions when federal revenues have been declining.
Additionally, he highlighted an inefficiency in healthcare spending. Smith noted that the government isn’t achieving satisfactory results relative to its healthcare expenditure, which he believes represents a substantial opportunity for cost savings, particularly when it comes to workforce requirements.
