WASHINGTON – The U.S. State Department’s Arabic spokesperson has resigned over his opposition to Washington’s policy on the war in Gaza, at least the third resignation at the department over the issue.

“I am resigning in April 2024 after 18 years of service opposing U.S. Gaza policy,” she wrote on the social media website LinkedIn. Asked about the resignations at a press conference today, a State Department spokesperson said the department has channels for employees to share their views when they disagree with government policy.
Another official, Josh Paul, former director of the Office of Congressional and Public Affairs in the State Department’s Political-Military Bureau, also resigned in October. In a statement at the time, he said: “I depart today because I believe that with our current policy of continued, indeed expanded and rapid delivery of lethal weapons to Israel, that deal has been reached,” he said. ”
The State Department is considered a haven for anti-Israel activists.Recently published Jewish Insider magazine revealed The department said it has been holding anti-Israel “listening sessions” for employees who are unhappy about its support for Israel, which is supported by the majority of Americans.
