State Dept-Tied Ukraine Site Puts Trump, Breitbart on ‘Enemies List’

A Ukrainian online media outlet with ties to the US State Department has published an “enemies list” of American activists, media figures, outlets and politicians who oppose pouring more tax money into the war, including former President Donald Trump and Breitbart News.

a report The article was published by the Ukrainian DATA Journalism Agency (TEXTY).Roller Coaster: From Trump Supporter to Communist. How and why the US is blocking aid to UkraineThe ” has accused numerous figures on the populist right and anti-war left in the United States of repeating “key messages of Russian propaganda aimed at depriving Ukrainians of the ability to defend themselves with Western weapons and funding.”

website Claim Teksti claims to be “independent” and that its project on anti-Ukrainian sentiment in the US is funded “solely by its readers”. Listed As a partner in the Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services in Ukraine (TAPAS) project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the UK Department for International Development (UK Dev).

Anatoly Bondarenko, co-founder and current deputy editor-in-chief of TEXTY Listed As a trainer for the US State Department’s “Tech Camp” program, he claims the program offers “participant-led, hands-on workshops that bring together private sector technology experts with key demographics, including journalists, non-governmental organizations, and civil society advocates, to explore and apply innovative technology solutions to global challenges.”

While the report acknowledges that most of the people mentioned in the investigation “do not have direct, proven ties to the Russian government or Russian propagandists,” it still goes on to paint a picture of an allegedly interconnected web of conspiracies involving 390 individuals and 76 organizations, with an emphasis on individuals “with ties to the Trump wing of the Republican Party.”

Prominent American conservative politicians who were cited in the report as showing anti-Ukraine bias include former President Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Senators Eric Schmitt (R-Missouri), J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Josh Hawley (R-Missouri), Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin), Representatives Bob Good (R-Virginia), Jim Banks (R-Indiana), Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), and Matt Gaetz (R-Florida), and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

The TEXTY article also profiles Republicans such as Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) who initially supported financial aid for Ukraine but later opposed further taxpayer money flowing to Kyiv.

Commenting on his inclusion in the report, Congressman Jim Banks said: I have written“I have been informed that I, along with other members of the U.S. Congress and several select Americans, have been placed on an ‘enemies list’ created by the Ukrainian government.

“To make matters worse, this list was made publicly available in a database funded by the U.S. government. My office will be reaching out to any other Americans targeted by the Ukrainian government.”

The study further asserted that former President Donald Trump’s “approach to foreign and domestic policy has attracted many neoconservative and far-right supporters” and that it is “supported” by news and media outlets such as Breitbart News, The American Conservative, The Daily Wire, One America News Network, and Real American Voice. Pressure groups such as the Heritage Foundation, Stand Together Foundation, Cato Institute, Concerned Veterans of America, and Turning Point USA were also cited.

Key media figures mentioned in the report include Tucker Carlson and Jordan Peterson, a Canadian professor who is said to be a fan of 19th century Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

U.S. Government Funded Websites Explained Breitbart News has been described as “far-right” and “aligned with the alt-right, the European populist right, and the pan-European nationalist identitarian movement.”

In listing examples of Breitbart’s alleged “anti-Ukrainian rhetoric,” TEXTY cited two tweets, one of which read: Criticized Instead of spending money on building a wall to secure the southern border, the Biden administration sent billions of dollars to Ukraine. another He criticized Biden for focusing on Russia while ignoring the threat posed by Communist China.

“In the article, the authors emphasize that ‘the West has done nothing to bring peace and continues to spend taxpayer money to arm Ukrainians,'” the report adds, citing a supposedly fabricated quote that is not published on Breitbart’s website.

While the authors acknowledge that much of the focus has been on the right, the report also lists several left-wing groups, such as the Stop the War Coalition and CODEPINK, which TEXTY says “use the full range of Russian propaganda tropes to support their belief in opposition to the war in Ukraine.” Despite voting in favor of more aid for Ukraine, a group of Left Democrats lawmakers known as “The Squad” was criticized for supporting peace talks between Kiev and Moscow and easing sanctions against Russia.

TEXTY reports that the left-wing anti-war movement is ideologically led by intellectuals such as Noam Chomsky and Jeffrey David Sachs, whom it describes as “well-known Russophiles and critics of the United States.”
