Curse Haunting Smith and Mets at WrestleMania 42
Las Vegas – There’s chatter that the Dannhausen Curse might be more than just a myth, especially for Stephen A. Smith and the New York Mets.
The Mets are currently grappling with a ten-game losing streak, and interestingly enough, Smith was in the spotlight during this year’s WWE event, WrestleMania 42, where he faced some heavy booing from the audience.
Seated ringside at Allegiant Stadium, the ESPN personality appeared on the big screen and seemed to roll with the crowd’s reaction, flashing a smile despite the negativity.
This all unfolded after Danhausen made an appearance on “First Take,” which baffled a few sports analysts, including Smith. He referred to Danhausen as his “bad luck charm,” seemingly perplexed by the situation.
Danhausen, on his part, mentioned that Smith had been “disrespectful” and attributed a rather unsettling “curse” on sports commentators to him.
Smith isn’t the only one feeling the curse’s effects. Danhausen recently claimed he attempted to lift it but noted that it hadn’t succeeded completely. The reason? A financial oversight on the part of Brian Gewirtz, who apparently didn’t pay Danhausen for his services. “If I had the money, it would probably actually work,” said Danhausen, indicating it was somewhat effective but not completely.
Danhausen’s antics don’t seem to be limited to Smith alone; other WWE wrestlers like The Miz and Kit Wilson were also mentioned as being under the influence of this peculiar curse.
