STEPHEN MOORE: 10 Ideas To Make America’s Economy Great Again In 2025

This is my wish list for the incoming Trump administration that will make America healthy, prosperous, and great again in 2025.

1. End job-killing regulations

The regulatory state imposes $2 trillion in taxes on the American economy. We all want worker safety, a clean environment, and consumer protection, but the costs of regulation often far outweigh the social benefits. President-elect Donald Trump promised: Slash 10 rules With each new rule. Give it a try, Mr. President. (Related: John Stossel: Is the government doing anything well?)

2. Make the Trump tax cuts permanent

Like JFK, Ronald Reagan, etc. proved Throughout history, lower tax rates have led to more growth, investment, and employment. President Trump's tax cuts meant that a typical family of four making $75,000 a year would have their taxes cut in half, receiving more than $2,000 in benefits. And the corporate tax rate fell from 35%, the highest in the world, to 21%, bringing jobs and capital to America. President Trump has promised to make all of these tax cuts permanent. why? Because they worked almost exactly as we expected.

3. Replace welfare with work

Growth will require more able-bodied Americans to get off welfare and into jobs. Welfare, including cash assistance, public housing, food stamps, disability benefits, unemployment benefits, and Medicaid, requires a handout, not a handout.

4. Take advantage of America's rich natural resources

America has well over $50 trillion in natural resources accessible with existing drilling and mining technologies. This is a vast treasure trove of wealth, far exceeding what any other country is endowed with. We can use royalty payments and leases to reduce our national debt and create hundreds of thousands of jobs at the same time.

5. Seek medical price transparency to reduce medical costs

One of the many ways to lower health care costs for consumers (and taxpayers, who pay half the costs) is to require hospitals, pharmacies, doctors, and clinics to display the prices they charge. The Committee to Unleash Prosperity aims to reduce health care costs by $1 trillion without compromising quality by allowing consumers to scour the internet for the best prices, just as we do when shopping. We estimate that there is a potential for savings of $2 trillion. Groceries, house, car. This promotes free market competition and lowers prices.

6. Give all families school choice

Test scores are plummeting in America. Children are graduating from high school without even being able to read their diplomas, if at all. America is no longer in the top 10 of many academic achievement ratings.

In the Catholic school system and in many schools, children can receive a better education for half the price.

playing cards I supported Provide universal school choice for all children, regardless of income, ethnicity, or race. This is the civil rights issue of our time.

7. Implement pro-American immigration policies

President Trump is committed to securing the border, but we also need legal immigration through a merit-based immigration system. The visa system would select immigrants based on skills, talent, investment capital, English proficiency, and education level. All of these traits bode well for success in America.

8. Revive America's great cities

From New York to Chicago to Detroit to San Francisco to Seattle, once-great American cities have started to look like war zones. Crime is rampant. Businesses, talent, and capital have fled, leaving the poorest Americans (mostly minorities) stranded with tragically limited opportunities beyond minimum-wage jobs at Walmart and McDonald's. Since 2020, major cities have lost nearly 1 million residents. and tens of thousands of businesses.

playing cards I want to activate Improve our cities and abandoned rural areas through deregulation, lower tax rates, changes in zoning policies, and infrastructure investments.

9. Withdraw the US from the Paris Climate Change Treaty and other anti-American agreements

We must end America's participation in the globalist treaties that hurt us the most. This includes the Paris Climate Accord, which imposes significant burdens on American businesses and workers, even though most other countries have failed to comply. President Trump also promised to eliminate global taxes, including Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's global minimum tax. Do we even need the United Nations?

10. Finally, drain the swamp

There's a reason 3 out of 5 The wealthiest counties in America are in or around Washington DC Washington DC is getting rich at the expense of the rest of us. Even though the coronavirus pandemic ended three years ago, less than 10% of overpaid federal workers (more than 2 million of them) work full-time in an office. These are swamp employees who often earn salaries of more than $150,000 a year. If you don't show up, you'll be fired. and moving federal agencies to other cities.

These are clearly bold aspirations for economic transformation toward freedom and free enterprise. But only Trump can accomplish that.
