A new poll shows former President Donald Trump maintains a large lead over Vice President Kamala Harris on the border and immigration issues.
In the battleground state of North Carolina, American Greatness Poll The poll, taken after the ABC News presidential debate, shows Trump holding a 3% lead among overall voters and a staggering 10% lead among independents. When it comes to which candidate people would trust more on border security, voters favor Trump over Harris by a 22% margin, 57-35%.
That gap could widen if more Americans knew about the migrant plight of many small and mid-sized cities across the country, many of which are in battleground states and struggling to deal with the deep damage caused by the Biden-Harris administration's open border policies. Most of these towns, like Springfield, Ohio, are working-class communities that have not generated enough clout to sound a national alarm about a sudden and chaotic influx of foreigners, most of whom are unable to assimilate quickly and some of whom are downright dangerous.
By contrast, recall the national uproar when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sent dozens of illegal immigrants to Martha's Vineyard, an ultra-luxury island off the coast of Massachusetts that also happens to be the residence of former President Barack Obama. Airlifted by the military to mainland Massachusetts.
In an almost unbelievable “I don't want it in my backyard” show of political might, Vineyard pundits quickly settled the immigration issue.
But a town like Springfield, home to just 60,000 Americans, has no such luck. Invasion 20,000 Haitian immigrants. Unlike Martha's Vineyard, Springfield residents are forced to deal with a massive influx of immigrants, most of whom do not speak English, straining local resources, overcrowding public schools, and wreaking havoc on the streets of their heartland communities.
According to New York Post report“Residents say their biggest problem so far has been the aggressive driving of Haitian immigrants who are unfamiliar with U.S. traffic laws, turning the roads into war zones.” One reckless Haitian driver killed Cathy Heaton, a 71-year-old American grandmother who was collecting trash near the road, but the driver was not charged.
I asked Similar Stories Last week, I visited Whitewater, Wisconsin. It is a small town in southern Wisconsin with a population of 15,000. Flooded More than 1,000 migrants have flowed into Whitewater since Harris took office as vice president. Residents complain that migrants are driving unlicensed and uninsured, causing major accidents, as a documentary about Whitewater's hardships will show. This local sentiment is echoed by: Police Statisticssame way.
In addition to the dangers on the streets, the influx of foreigners has put a huge strain on local schools. 20% of students Nowadays, more and more people do not speak English. Related costs Immigrants plunged small towns into serious financial deficits.
Not far from Whitewater, a normally tranquil Wisconsin town is facing accusations of violent sexual crimes against immigrants. In May of this year, a 12-year-old girl was shot in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Tied upShe was blindfolded and sexually assaulted by a Nicaraguan man who crossed the border with Harris in 2021. A few days earlier, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, a Venezuelan migrant man Arrested He was charged with sexual assault of women and children, and according to local police chief Kyle Tainer, “police had reason to believe he had ties to international criminal organizations.”
So even if stories of immigrants mistreating pets don’t represent a widespread risk, the known harm caused by the mass settlement of unvetted, expensive immigrants should outrage all Americans.
Trump will end this open border madness.
