Over the summer, Carr endorsed President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as presidential candidates.
Even while attending the Democratic National Convention, he wanted to “in the words of the great Stephen Curry…say 'night, night!' to Donald Trump.”

Instead, Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president on January 20, becoming the first president since former President Grover Cleveland to win the election after losing.
Kerr told reporters Wednesday before his team's game against the Boston Celtics that he will take the high road.
“I believe in democracy, and I think the American people spoke up and voted for Mr. Trump. I want him to do well over the next four years, and I want our country to do well,” Kerr said. .
But Kerr then made a dark joke about President Trump's unpopular claims of election fraud four years ago.

“We're thankful there was no fraud this time. It's unfortunate that last time we had all these illegal immigrants breaking through the border, raping and killing people, and then voting six times,” Carr said.
Social media wasn't thrilled about his mentions of rape and immigration.
“Steve Kerr should be ashamed. Laken Riley and other innocent Americans were raped and murdered by illegal immigrants…how tone-deaf is he?” one user said:.
“No, that second paragraph wasn’t adjusted.” Added another one.
Another person said Mr Kerr's comments were: “I absolutely hate it.” “The American people deserve the justice he deserves.”
“I believe in democracy. I believe in the will of the people. I will do everything I can to support my country and my government. I only want what is best for me. The world is complex,” Kerr said. '' he added. “There are a lot of interesting things, like wars overseas and the global economy that has changed everything in terms of what it means for our people and our daily lives. I realize that I live in a bubble. I'm one of the luckiest people on the planet, so I hope Mr. Trump can do that.”
Asked what his message to the team was, Kerr cited Trump's motto while trying to strictly follow basketball.
“I just told them in a meeting this morning, 'Let's make America great again and beat the Celtics.'

Harris conceded the race on Wednesday.
