Study Discovers Surprising (Not Really) Link Between Trans Beliefs and Violence

Gender Ideology and Its Links to Authoritarianism: A New Study

A recent study from Rutgers University, in collaboration with the Network Contagion Research Institute and the Manhattan Institute, has unveiled some intriguing, though not particularly shocking, results.

According to the research, “These findings suggest that gender ideology is associated with left-wing authoritarianism (LWA) and a readiness to endorse political violence.”

In the study, which is titled “Where the Clinic Meets the Movement: Does Gender Ideology Arm Left-Wing Authoritarian Psychology?”, researchers surveyed 1,208 adults in the U.S. It’s important to note that this is a correlational study, establishing links without claiming causation.

They assessed respondents’ positions on the Clinical Gender Affirmation Scale (CGAS). Some of the statements used to gauge support for gender ideology included:

  • Not affirming a transgender individual’s identity heightens their risk of significant psychological distress.
  • Individuals should receive support in expressing their transgender identity.
  • Using a chosen name is an essential form of support.
  • Employing preferred pronouns is crucial for support.
  • Parents are encouraged to support their children’s exploration of their gender identity.

The study measured LWA through criteria such as:

  • One’s political identity
  • Perceived threats from various groups
  • Belief in an ongoing “trans genocide” in the U.S.
  • Justification of specific forms of political violence, including harming public figures and property damage.

So, the study found a correlation between CGAS scores and LWA. The conclusion drawn is noteworthy:

Research on authoritarianism has largely concentrated on the political right, while left-wing pathways have not received equivalent focus. This suggests that similar psychological dynamics are present on the extreme left as well, potentially facilitated through clinical practices and guidelines that current frameworks don’t adequately address. The association between gender ideology and violence remains somewhat unexplored in academic discussions, making this study a significant step toward understanding the psychological landscape that enables such violence.

It’s interesting, isn’t it? It seems like when you take a vulnerable group, reinforce their fears by suggesting non-affirmation equals genocide, and then release them into a chaotic world, it’s a recipe for unrest. This dynamic appears to fuel a narrative of aggression directed mainly at those deemed unsupportive by the left.

Most individuals within the transgender community do not engage in violence. Yet, driven by “affirmation” rhetoric, they often find themselves living in a state of frustration and anger, believing the world seeks to erase them. This isn’t a compassionate approach. To foster a mindset of peace, one would ideally encourage acceptance of reality rather than insisting on a world that conforms to one’s expectations. Grasping that life won’t always align with your desires is, I believe, a healthier way to navigate existence.

Moreover, America has historically coexisted with various expressions of gender identity. There wasn’t this kind of tension until more recently, when both sides began to adopt a more confrontational stance. Unfortunately, the left, along with media allies, has fostered an environment where dissenters are painted not just as unsupportive, but as genuine threats.

This narrative is geared toward galvanizing division and animosity, targeting certain groups, particularly conservatives and Christians, for hostility. Ultimately, this seems to create an atmosphere where conflict is almost inevitable.
