Study shows the fast food capital of the US

Fast Food Trends Across the U.S.

It seems that some states really have a thing for fast food. New statistics have emerged, shedding light on the fast food capitals of America, along with insights into regional favorites.

A team of analysts took a closer look and compared the number of popular fast food locations in each state against the population, figuring out which states have the most fast food spots per 100,000 residents.

Leading the pack is West Virginia, boasting an impressive 49.04 fast food restaurants per 100,000 people. If you ever find yourself in the Mountain State, you’re likely to encounter a plethora of McDonald’s and Wendy’s.

Following closely is Kentucky, which clocks in at 47.21 per 100,000 residents. Subway appears to reign supreme as the favorite chain there.

Kansas isn’t far behind, earning third place with 47.1 fast food joints. People in the Sunflower State seem to enjoy their Pizza Hut, Domino’s, and Papa John’s.

Mississippi holds the fourth position, with around 47 eateries per 100,000 locals. Sonic Drive-In, Wendy’s, and Burger King are among the popular choices for residents.

Ohio rounds out the top five, having nearly 47 fast food establishments. Interestingly, Starbucks is the favorite here; it seems coffee plays a big part in their fast food scene.

On the other hand, New York—a city renowned for its variety of dining options—landed at 48th place, with 29.47 fast food restaurants per 100,000 residents.

“The U.S. is certainly recognized for its fast food culture. It’s convenient, it’s budget-friendly, and the data seems to back this up,” said a source from QR Code Generator.

However, notable data from the Centers for Disease Control indicates that West Virginia, Mississippi, and Arkansas have the highest obesity rates in the country, at 41.2%, 40.1%, and 40%, respectively. This raises questions about how fast food accessibility connects with health outcomes, with these states often ranking among the top in this regard.

A recent report from Restaurant Furniture Plus reveals that while these states have a strong fast food presence, you might want to think twice about grabbing a bite at McDonald’s, which has just been rated the least favorable fast food in the nation.

“Their offerings definitely need some work,” remarked a spokesperson for the company, aiming to delve into why certain menu items consistently fall short of expectations.

“This analysis highlights distinct trends in customer satisfaction, pinpointing where fast food offerings could be improved,” a company representative concluded.
