Skinner, a silver medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, made the comments in a since-deleted YouTube video shortly after the women's gymnastics roster was announced in July.
“Aside from Simone, I feel like the talent and depth is different than it was before,” Skinner said at the time. “They don't have a work ethic.”

Biles immediately disputed his former teammate's statements.
“Not everyone needs a microphone and a platform,” Biles wrote in the thread.
Lee also joined the fray at the time with his own now-deleted comments.

After the U.S. won gold in the team event in late July, Biles appeared to criticize Skinner again, captioning an Instagram post, “Lack of talent, laziness, Olympic champion.” ❤️🥇🇺🇸”
Mr. Skinner eventually apologized for his comments.

“I would like to formally apologize to Team USA and our gymnastics community for my comments in a recent YouTube episode about Olympic Gymnastics judging.” she wrote on Instagram. “It was never my intention to offend or belittle the athletes or take away from their efforts.”

Suni Lee is still not happy about comments from former Olympic gymnastics teammate Mikayla Skinner.
In July, before the Olympics, Skinner asked about the depth and work ethic of the women's gymnastics team beyond Simone Biles.
Lee revealed the comments still sting. In an interview with Glamor magazine.
