Outrage Following Disturbing Posts About Austin Metcalf
Karmelo Anthony’s supporters have resorted to a troubling tactic to mock Austin Metcalf, the 17-year-old victim of Anthony’s actions back in April 2025.
One individual on Instagram stated, “I woke up and chose violence,” while also urging for Anthony’s release. A screenshot revealed this sentiment.
This person shared a shocking image of himself urinating on Metcalf’s grave. It seems that the photo might have been created using artificial intelligence tools. The poster later acknowledged this in an Instagram story, claiming, “Mfs Be Mad At AI … that’s what be crazy shows how racist y’all is.”

This kind of reasoning is quite baffling: the idea that outrage over someone desecrating the grave of a murdered white teen somehow highlights anti-black racism is, frankly, a stretch.
Other supporters of Anthony have also joined in, posting what appear to be AI-generated images of themselves engaging in similar disrespectful acts at Metcalf’s grave.
While some might argue—as Anthony’s lawyers have—that his actions were based in self-defense, it’s a rather absurd interpretation of a scenario where he stabbed an unarmed individual.
Yet, it seems that Anthony’s supporters are largely unable to put forth balanced arguments for his innocence. Their frequent references to anti-black racism might be seen as absurd if they weren’t so manipulative. It feels like a heavy-handed tactic: Agree with us or be labeled racist.
Engaging with individuals who use coercive tactics like this is nearly impossible. Their views appear preordained and steeped in a sense of ethnic entitlement.
Take, for instance, Dominique Alexander, who represents the Anthony family. After the guilty verdict, he asserted, “What this process did, it’s shown that black lives do not matter in Collin County… This trial has highlighted that emotions have overshadowed the law. After Trayvon Martin and countless others, it is clear that black life is not safe in Collin County.”
Such self-serving rhetoric deserves to be ridiculed and dismissed.
