Supreme Court rejects lawyer Michael Cohen lawsuit against Trump over alleged retaliation

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected former lawyer Michael Cohen's appeal to reopen the case against former President Donald Trump, ending Cohen's case for the last time.

Cohen had claimed that his imprisonment in 2020 was retaliation by the Trump administration for publishing a book critical of the former president. The lawsuit sought monetary damages from President Trump, former U.S. Attorney General William Barr, federal prison officials, and the federal government.

Trump lawyer Alina Hubba said, “Michael Cohen has made every possible pathetic attempt to drag my client into court over and over again.''As expected, the Supreme Court has ruled that Michael Cohen's Having correctly dismissed the petition, he must finally abandon his frivolous and hopeless claims.” he told Fox News Digital in a statement.

Cohen served three years in prison for several federal crimes related to his campaign against Trump, including lying to Congress. He was released from home confinement during the pandemic, but was sent back to prison after refusing to sign an agreement restricting his social media posts and contact with the press.
