Surgeon general nominee praised censorship and referred to the COVID vaccine as a ‘gift from God.’

Concerns Over Surgeon General Nominee Dr. Janette Nesheiwat

CBS News has recently reported that Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, nominated for the position of surgeon general, may have misrepresented aspects of her educational background. However, Liz Wheeler, from The Liz Wheeler Show, has raised different issues regarding Nesheiwat’s qualifications that she believes warrant withdrawing President Trump’s nomination.

Wheeler highlights a particularly concerning statement from Nesheiwat where she referred to COVID vaccines as a “gift.” This phrase, Wheeler argues, should lead senators to vote against her confirmation.

Wheeler elaborates, criticizing Nesheiwat’s praise for large tech companies like Facebook for censoring what they label as “anti-vax information.” She argues that this label can apply to anyone who questions official narratives, emphasizing that anything deterring people from following such guidelines is often categorized this way.

Vaccines, in Wheeler’s view, undeniably save lives. She expressed her admiration for Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg’s efforts in this regard, stating that these actions impact everyone. She adds, “That’s not a joke.” She also highlights the severity of diseases like measles, which can lead to severe health complications or even death.

Wheeler continues to note the polarization surrounding COVID-19, touching on lockdowns, social distancing, and other regulations, including the masking of children. “Who was behind the push for kids to wear masks in schools?” she asks, echoing her concerns about Dr. Nesheiwat’s involvement.

In October 2021, Nesheiwat claimed on social media that masks had saved thousands of lives and infections. “This claim lacks scientific backing,” Wheeler argues, calling the statement absurd, and adds, “It’s not as harmful as keeping kids locked away in schools, but it’s still foolish.”

Wheeler asserts there’s a clear need for President Trump to reconsider Nesheiwat’s nomination. She urges senators on the Senate Aid Committee to cast their votes against her confirmation.
