Survey: Most People Favor Major Trump Policies

Poll Reveals American Support for Trump’s Policies

A recent Harvard University/Harris poll indicates that many Americans are in favor of President Donald Trump’s major policies.

The survey examined various topics, from the deportation of undocumented immigrants to the participation of biological males in female sports. It identified ten policies that enjoy majority support.

Notably, lowering prescription drug prices for Medicare recipients and low-income patients topped the list, garnering an impressive 85% approval, reflecting agreement across different political affiliations.

Interestingly, 80% of respondents support deporting undocumented immigrants as well as those who commit additional crimes, while 78% are in favor of serious efforts to identify and eliminate fraud and waste in government spending.

Other areas of support include:

  • 76% support allowing employers to offer separate health insurance for infertility treatments.
  • 72% back limiting credit card interest rates to 10% for one year.
  • 71% are in favor of banning large institutional investors from buying single-family homes.
  • 68% support launching a government-operated website for purchasing medications directly from manufacturers at significant discounts.
  • 65% favor removing racial preferences in hiring and government contracts.
  • 65% agree that men who transition to women through surgery and hormones should be banned from women’s sports.
  • 65% support raising physical fitness standards for military members, regardless of gender.

While many of Trump’s policies have majority backing, some are viewed as more contentious. For instance, 63% agree that government should recognize only two genders, male and female, although only 41% of Democrats share this belief, revealing a notable divide.

Additional support is evident for using the U.S. military against drug cartels in Latin America (62%), introducing reciprocal tariffs against countries that impose tariffs on U.S. goods (61%), stricter voter ID laws for the upcoming 2026 midterm elections (59%), and deporting all undocumented immigrants (56%).

Interestingly, a slight majority opposes the hiring of more Border Patrol and ICE agents for immigration enforcement, as well as adding work requirements to cut the Medicaid program for those 64 and older.

This survey was conducted from May 29-31, 2026, and included 1,725 registered voters, with a margin of error of +/- 2.4%.
