An American man has been detained after making threats against Taylor Swift on social media ahead of her first German show on the Eraus Tour.
The 34-year-old man, whose name has not been released by authorities, will be held in Gelsenkirchen until Saturday. The “Porpoise” singer is due to take the stage again on Thursday and Friday nights.
Police said in a statement that the suspect had tickets to Swift’s concert at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen on Wednesday and that he was investigated but was detained during entrance checks to the arena after they could not rule out a risk.

The suspected stalker made threats on social media against Swift and her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, and organisers of a German leg of Swift’s “The Eras Tour” reported the threats to police.
Police insisted there was no danger to Swift or the audience, and Wednesday night’s concert, attended by about 60,000 people, was peaceful.

After her Germany shows, Swift will travel to Poland and Austria before returning to London for five more shows starting on August 15. Swift performed three nights at London’s Wembley Stadium in June.
She will then take a month off before performing for the last time in the US in October.
Swift confirmed “Eras Tour” is over The tour will wrap up in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada in December, with the final show taking place at BC Place on December 8. Swift will take to the stage for the first time in Glendale, Arizona on March 17, 2023.

“I know a lot of people are wondering, ‘How do you celebrate 100 shows?'” Swift said onstage. “And for me, celebrating 100 shows is the first time I’ve ever had the opportunity to accept to myself that this tour is going to end in December.”
“So that’s it,” she continued, “It feels so far away now. But on the flip side, it feels like we just finished the first show of this tour, and you all entertained us so much that we want to do 100, 150 more shows.”

Swift revealed that touring has become her “whole life” and joked that she can’t remember her hobbies.
“When I’m not onstage, all I do is sit at home and think about clever acoustic song mashups and things that people would like to hear.”
