Taylor Frankie Paul will not face additional charges following the conclusion of a domestic violence investigation by Utah State Police.
The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office has decided against filing new charges against the 31-year-old reality star, known for “Mormon Wives,” citing “evidential issues” in the inquiries conducted by Draper and West Jordan police, as mentioned in their press release.
Concerning the investigation in West Jordan, prosecutors noted that “the complainants reported several incidents, some dating back over three years.”
However, misdemeanors that occurred more than two years ago cannot be pursued due to the statute of limitations.
In particular, the statement highlighted that the allegations against Paul “do not reach the level of criminal offenses.”
“The remaining cases lack sufficient evidence to support criminal charges, and the state must prove allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. The cases are vague regarding specifics of when and what transpired,” the statement elaborated.
Paul’s representatives have not yet responded to requests for comments.
Earlier in March, news broke that filming for the next season of “Secrets of a Mormon Wife” had been suspended due to two reported domestic violence incidents involving Paul and ex-partner Dakota Mortensen.
A video from March 19 revealed a violent incident in 2023, where Paul threw bar stools at Mortensen while their daughter Indi, who is now eight, was present.
It’s important to note that Paul was initially set to feature in season 22 of ABC’s The Bachelorette, but the network abruptly canceled the season amid these serious allegations.
Also, on March 25, it came to light that Paul was under investigation for a third domestic violence incident by the West Jordan Police, in addition to the two ongoing cases from Draper Police.
While not facing new criminal charges is a relief for Paul, her legal troubles are ongoing.
Currently, she is in a contentious custody battle with Mortensen, who has temporarily gained custody of their two-year-old son, Ever.
A recent ruling allowed Paul, who also has a five-year-old son named Ocean from a previous marriage, to have “supervised” visitation with Ever due to concerns regarding her “erratic” behavior.
