Taylor Swift has allowed just five individuals to hear her latest album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, and even some of those who contributed to the project haven’t had the chance to listen to the final version.
An insider mentioned that everyone involved, including authors, producers, and studio staff, went through a strict vetting process to ensure their trustworthiness. The source told the Daily Mail on Monday, “Everyone was required to sign stringent NDAs and were not allowed to discuss their work with anyone outside that small circle. She’s really dedicated to keeping it under wraps for her fans.”
Reportedly, the pop star took significant precautions to prevent any leaks. Swift secretly recorded songs during her downtime while touring, collaborating with Swedish producers Max Martin and Shellback.
Travis Kelce, her boyfriend, revealed that he had listened to the entire album during a recent episode of his podcast, *New Heights*. Apart from him, the four others who had access to the album include Swift’s long-time spokesperson Tree Paine and an unknown studio engineer.
The insider added, “They implemented a program to monitor file sharing outside that core group. Swift was conscientious, so she held off on listening until later.”
Kelce was enthusiastic about praising the album, describing it as more upbeat compared to her previous work. “I’ve been fortunate enough to hear the 12 tracks, and they’re all hits. It’s much brighter and feels like fun pop excitement. A complete turnaround from some of her earlier stuff,” he noted.
Zoë Kravitz, one of Swift’s closest friends, mentioned she’s heard snippets and affirmed, “Of course, it’s amazing. You don’t want to skip any track,” during an interview promoting her new film, *Catch Stealing*. When the interviewer pointed out that having “no skip” is a rarity, Kravitz replied, “Not for her.”
Swift stated that her new album feels distinct from her 11th, *The Tortured Poets Department*. In her conversation on *New Heights*, she elaborated, “Life is brighter now,” saying that the music perfectly reflects her current state of being.
The aim for *The Life of a Showgirl*, set for release on October 3, was to craft melodies that are infectious yet intentional, with lyrics that are thoughtfully constructed.
