A high school educator in Washington state is facing criticism after inadvertently showing a topless image during a class presentation, as stated by the school’s principal.
An unnamed teacher at Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish displayed four explicit photos of women’s breasts while delivering a PowerPoint presentation to students on Wednesday. This unexpected incident was called an accident by headteacher Alicia Mitchell in a letter addressed to parents.
“I want to bring to your attention an incident where an inappropriate image was mistakenly shared with students in class,” Mitchell mentioned in the letter that was later obtained by the media.
“These images were viewed by a number of individuals outside the classroom, and we are offering students the chance to discuss their feelings about it if they choose. The content featured images of bare breasts and was briefly shown during the teacher’s PowerPoint presentation.”
The principal confirmed that this troubling mistake is under investigation but emphasized it does not align with the school’s “standards for classroom materials.”
Mitchell did not disclose any details about the teacher involved.
Jason Lantz, a host on Seattle Red radio, reported receiving a concerning presentation in which one slide allegedly displayed four images of exposed breasts in a compact preview box.
This format, he noted, made the images appear like previews from a folder.
It’s uncertain whether the photo belongs to the teacher or another individual. Additionally, there’s no information regarding whether any educators have faced suspension amid the investigation.
“As this is a personnel issue currently being investigated, we cannot provide further details or comments,” a school spokesperson informed the Post.
“We take this matter seriously and are adhering to established protocols to review the situation and determine what steps to take next.”
