Teachers’ union heard coaching migrants evading ICE despite Homan warning Dems

A video that has recently emerged shows representatives from the New York City Teachers' Union providing instructions on how to help immigrant families avoid immigration and customs enforcement.

Representatives from the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) can hear coaching educators on how to help illegal immigrants avoid ice in their homes and in public places during the Zoom session Released by the New York Post.

“If ice comes to your house, you don't have to open the door,” the representative can be heard saying on the video.

“In fact, you shouldn't open the door,” the representative continued. “If you open the door and leave the chain on, it can be interpreted as ice, so you need to close the door and leave it silent.”

For non-English speaking individuals, UFT representatives mentioned the “red card.” This is free to print and is intended to slide under the door when an ice agent comes to your home.

“I don't want to talk to you, I don't agree to allow you to enter my house,” reads the “red card” on one side and in the language of the other resident.

A UFT representative said some schools in New York City are distributing “red cards,” while others are not “comfortable” to do so.

“By sharing information, educators, students and families know that their rights are education,” a UFT spokesperson told Fox News Digital in a statement. “We share city and state guidance to help educators navigate a more complex world than ever before.”

The video guidance states that New York City Mayor Eric Adams sends new memos to all city agencies, including schools, hospitals and immigration shelters, and if employees feel “reasonably threatened,” federal immigration officers said it could allow federal immigration to city property. Fox 5 reported.

“Memos were sent before the new administration took office,” Adams said at a press conference Wednesday.

“This guidance is nothing new,” he continued. “We always give employees the right direction. We never do harm to them.”

Border Emperor Tom Homan last month warned blue cities and states resisting the Trump administration's deportation.

“We're just trying to help the public safety of your community,” Homan told Fox News in January. “The sanctuary cities are trying to get exactly what they don't want. More agents in the community, more people are arrested, more collateral is arrested.

Homan sparring with Democratic leaders around the country said he was willing to jail Denver Mayor Mike Johnston for his deportation protest.

Homan met with Adams in December, and said that after the meeting he “shares the same desire” to chase illegal immigrant criminals.

Adams' office did not immediately respond for comment.
