A Pennsylvania teenager, known online as “YourfavoriteGuy,” has stirred controversy with his anti-Israel sentiments, boasting nearly 1 million followers on social media. He recently expressed dissatisfaction with TikTok for not adequately supporting figures linked to violent acts, encouraging others to advocate for them.
The 19-year-old, Guy Christensen, showcased his beliefs through online rants, claiming he would not extend sympathy to what he termed “war criminals.” In a TikTok video that garnered over 632,500 views before it was taken down, he called for support of actions linked to a recent attack on a Jewish couple in Washington.
Christensen stated, “Israel has been streaming genocide live across the world for the past two years.” He argued that the victims had no choice but to fight back against a perceived threat, implying that violence was a form of resistance.
When questioned about whether he endorsed the murder of one of the victims, Jaron Lisinski, he suggested that interpreting events this way was a misuse of the discourse surrounding violence. He has been openly critical of mainstream media coverage, which he feels overlooked the violence experienced by Palestinians.
Despite labeling Lisinski a “war criminal” and displaying a Palestinian flag in his video background, Christensen differentiated between acts of violence, defending Elias Rodriguez, who was implicated in the attack, as merely a “resistance fighter.” He even drew a comparison with Lisinski’s fiancée, Sarah Milgrim, who was set to get engaged shortly before the incident.
He expressed frustration over media narratives that overshadowed the deaths of Palestinians, highlighting what he views as a bias in coverage. Initially, his incendiary TikTok video was removed for violating community guidelines, but after appealing, he managed to reinstate it, only for it to be taken down again shortly thereafter.
In a communication with a TikTok representative, it was confirmed that the footage was removed due to the promotion of violent or hateful ideologies, which are against community standards.
Christensen noted that he has endeavored to have this content available again, but anticipated further removals without any possibility of further appeals. It seems the platform’s guidelines starkly conflict with his outspoken views.
