Terrifying Moments: American Airlines Passengers Forced to Evacuate on Plane’s Wing, Captured in Shocking Video

Travelers aboard an American Airlines flight evacuated the plane from the wing after smoke was detected in the cabin upon landing in Georgia.

Footage captured by passenger Sean O’Connor showed an individual retrieving luggage while being rescued from the wing of the jet at Augusta Regional Airport on Tuesday.

“The brakes emitted a burning smell, and the cabin filled with smoke, so we clambered onto the wings,” a voice describes in the video. “Everyone appears to be okay. Welcome to Augusta.”

“Following a flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Augusta Regional Airport, PSA Airlines’ American Eagle Flight 5406 encountered maintenance issues after landing safely in Augusta,” American Airlines informed Fox News Digital in a statement. “All passengers have disembarked and were escorted to the airport terminal. We prioritize customer safety and apologize for any trouble this may cause.”

The Federal Aviation Administration stated to Fox News Digital on Thursday morning that they are examining the incident.

“The crew indicated smoke in the cabin after arriving at Georgia’s Augusta Regional Airport at approximately 9:50 AM on Tuesday, April 1st,” stated the spokesperson. “The passengers left the Bombardier CRJ900 on the tarmac and were taken to the terminal by bus.”

Subsequent examinations of the aircraft revealed that electrical issues led to haze forming within the cabin. WJBF reported, citing the airport spokesman.
