Tesla Diner opens in Hollywood featuring Optimus robots and Cybertruck food boxes

Elon Musk’s Optimus Robot welcomed eager customers as Tesla Diner, much talked about in the lead-up, opened its doors in a “retro-futuristic” style along the iconic Hollywood strip.

This all-night drive-in features an “80 V4 Supercharger Stall” and two large entertainment screens. During the opening, Tesla’s humanoid Optimus handed out popcorn to those who participated in the event.

The diner started taking orders at 4:20 PM on Monday, a nod to Musk’s favorite marijuana reference.

Tesla has been actively promoting the diner, encouraging people to come and “try it out.”

“We’re aiming to provide a fun experience for everyone, regardless of whether they own a Tesla,” Musk stated online. “We’ll keep making improvements.”

The menu includes a range of classic fare made from locally sourced ingredients, featuring items like fried chicken, waffles, Tesla burgers, and diner-style club sandwiches.

Customers received some of their meals in “Cybertock” themed boxes, reminiscent of Tesla’s stainless steel pickup trucks, and the cups for fries showcased the distinctive Tesla Lightning Bolt logo.

If this diner concept takes off, Musk mentioned he plans to establish more locations in major cities and along long-distance travel routes.

Musk has hinted at the diner idea for several years now.

In 2023, Tesla greenlit the diner’s construction on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Visitors can use the Tesla Diner app to watch movies on the large screens in the diner or from their vehicles.

Tesla shares saw a slight uptick, rising about 1% during Tuesday trading.

After stepping back from involvement with Trump’s government initiatives, Musk is now refocusing his energy on Tesla.

If the diner proves successful, Musk is optimistic about potential expansions.

While Musk’s ambitious plans unfold, Tesla is working to address a recent downturn in vehicle sales.

He emphasizes the company’s innovative technology, particularly focusing on the long-term prospects for the Optimus Robot and the newly launched self-driving Robotax fleet in Austin, Texas.
