Tesla stock surges after Trump wins presidency

shares of Electric car manufacturer Tesla Stocks rose sharply on Wednesday after President-elect Trump won the presidential election.

Tesla shares soared as much as 14% after the market opened, but had pared some of that gain to 11.5% as of mid-morning.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk He supported Trump's efforts to return to the White House and was a prominent financial supporter of his campaign.

Trump has been critical of incentives and subsidies for electric vehicles, but in his victory speech early Wednesday morning he praised Musk's work at Tesla, calling him a “super genius.”
