Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton begins secret investigations into 'leftist terror groups'

Texas AG Launches Operation to Combat Left-Wing Terrorism

On Tuesday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the initiation of an undercover operation aimed at investigating and dismantling left-wing terrorist organizations. This decision follows several instances of political violence that have gained national attention.

Paxton pointed to the assassination of Charlie Kirk and expressed concern over what he describes as a troubling increase in left-wing violence nationwide. “Left-wing political terrorism is a clear and present danger. Ideologies such as transgenderism and Antifa are not just ideas; they’re a toxic influence on our society, unleashing their disturbed followers on the American public,” he said.

He further remarked, “Charlie Kirk’s martyrdom marks a turning point for America. We must not compromise with those who seek to harm us. That’s why I’ve instructed my office to intensify efforts to identify and infiltrate these radical organizations. To those bent on violence, just know: you can’t hide from justice.”

Paxton emphasized that there’s an atmosphere of glorification around political violence that’s been fostered by the radical left. He pointed to about 20 individuals linked to Texas-based groups resembling Antifa, who are suspected of launching an attack on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Alvarado, Texas.

He also mentioned the recent killing of Kirk on a college campus in Utah, alongside incidents like the shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas.

In a statement reflecting on prior developments, Paxton noted President Trump’s designation of Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, which led to directives for federal agencies to investigate and counteract these groups.

Paxton concluded by reiterating the urgency of addressing these radical left-wing organizations as part of a broader effort to combat political violence, asserting, “The time to act is now.” However, challenges remain, such as a recent federal judge’s ruling against the deployment of the National Guard to Portland, Oregon, where protests are ongoing.
