Missing Girl Found After Christmas Day Kidnapping in Texas
A father from Porter, Texas, utilized the parental controls on his phone to locate his 15-year-old daughter, who disappeared on Christmas Day. The girl, last seen while walking her dog, was discovered in a pickup truck by her father, along with a man suspected of kidnapping her, who allegedly used a knife to force her into the vehicle.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that the kidnapping took place in the 4000 block of Connor Mills Court in Porter just before 4:50 p.m. Law enforcement received a call about the incident after the girl failed to return home.
Using tracking information from the parental control feature on his daughter’s phone, the father was led to a remote area about two miles from where the abduction occurred. He found his daughter and her dog inside a maroon pickup truck with a 23-year-old man present.
The father managed to rescue his daughter from the vehicle and informed law enforcement, prompting a search for the suspect and the truck. Witnesses at the kidnapping scene provided authorities with a detailed description of the vehicle.
Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office subsequently located the suspect’s vehicle and arrested 23-year-old Giovanni Rosales Espinoza without any issues. He now faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and child molestation and is currently being held without bail in the Montgomery County Jail.
Preliminary inquiries suggested that the suspect had threatened the girl with a knife before abducting her. Investigators from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit are actively pursuing the case.
Sheriff Wesley Doolittle commented on the situation, stating, “Christmas is typically a joyful day, but this individual chose to disrupt that joy by targeting a child. I take pride in our sheriffs and detectives who worked diligently to apprehend this dangerous predator. We assure the community that the Sheriff’s Office remains vigilant to protect families.” He added that the investigation is ongoing, and no additional details will be released at this time.
