A Texas judge, Nathan Milliron, is in the spotlight after a viral video shows him physically assaulting an IT worker. Milliron insists he deserves respect as a “duly elected judge” and has instructed his staff to fulfill their duties more efficiently in emails that have just come to light.
In an assertive tone, he demanded, “This is no longer a question. Please call the clerk who will do the work for me!” He went on to remind everyone that he is indeed a “duly elected judge” and expected to be treated with the same respect as his peers.
In another email dated August 2025, Milliron confronted a district office employee named Lisa and referred to her as a “subordinate.” He stated, “Take it. I’m a district judge and you are absolutely my subordinate…”
In response, Burgess told Lisa that she didn’t have to agree with the situation but urged her to do her job. Milliron insisted on immediate assignment of another employee to assist him, finishing the email with, “That’s an order!”
This email exchange surfaced amidst escalating backlash from his courtroom outbursts, with two videos circulating online where he is seen striking an IT worker and threatening to restrain a defense attorney.
Milliron has been serving as a judge in the 215th District Court since January 2025. He is also under scrutiny for not adhering to state ethics regulations, with the Texas Ethics Commission noting he failed to file essential reports. This includes a campaign finance report and a personal financial disclosure report, resulting in potential fines of $1,000 and $500 respectively.
His courtroom behavior has prompted comments from other lawyers. Attorney James Stafford mentioned he has been instructed by Milliron to apologize via email for how he treated IT staff. “I’ve never seen a judge act like this,” Stafford remarked. “His behavior was outrageous.”
