Texas Judge Pat Deen warns of job losses for Amazon workers before his son reportedly spits at two people during a heated argument.

Confrontation Involving Texas Judge and Amazon Employees

A county judge in Texas has threatened to dismiss two Amazon employees after a confrontation on the street where their son reportedly spat on them.

Parker County Judge Pat Dean was backing out of his driveway in Hudson Oaks, a suburb near Fort Worth, when an Amazon delivery van almost collided with his car. This incident occurred as detailed by CBS Texas.

The delivery van, operated by JNae King and LaTierca Thrower, continued to their next drop-off after the near-miss.

Thrower, who was on her first job, accused Judge Dean of stepping out of his truck to confront them during the incident in November.

In a video, Dean can be seen saying, “You stopped when I tried to back up. Are you stupid?”

Thrower recalled, “He was just yelling, ‘I’m going to fire you all, I’m going to fire you all, everyone be careful.’”

The rookie delivery driver eventually quit, stating that she didn’t nearly cause the incident and reminded the upset deputy to calm down.

As the argument escalated, Dean’s son, Gary Patrick Dean Jr., allegedly joined in and shouted racial slurs at the women.

The employees warned the two men to move back, claiming that saliva was coming from the judge’s mouth as he spoke.

King noted, “Most of the conflict comes from my son; from my perspective as a judge, I don’t believe he spat intentionally. It seemed more driven by anger.”

Local police found video evidence showing the younger Dean spitting, but no proof of racial slurs was identified.

Judge Dean denied that he ever spat at the Amazon workers during the encounter on the road.

He justified his reaction, saying the delivery driver had parked in a way that scraped his car, which understandably upset him. “At that moment, I think anyone—public official or not—would be frustrated when there’s a risk of personal injury or property damage,” he mentioned.

Dean also acknowledged his role in escalating the situation, admitting he should have walked away.

The two women have filed assault charges against Dean’s son.

Dean, who has been the Parker County judge since September 2018 following the resignation of Mark Riley, is campaigning for a third term in 2026 against former police officer and district judge Tim Galbraith in the upcoming Republican primary. The primary winner is set to face Democrat Richard Sims, who is unopposed for the November general election.
