Texas Man Arrested for Abuse of a Corpse

A Texas man, Michael Chadwick Frye, has been charged with abuse of a corpse after posting a video on YouTube that shows him throwing a bucket of human remains over the fence of the FBI’s Dallas office, allegedly to provoke a “forced summons,” as indicated by court documents.

Frye faces two counts of abuse of a corpse, alongside charges for tampering with physical evidence with intent to cause injury to a human corpse. He was taken into custody on Wednesday and later released on a $30,000 bond.

According to reports, Frye’s mother alerted authorities when he asked her for money to rent a U-Haul, claiming he “had a body that needed moving.” Details from an arrest warrant affidavit suggest she became increasingly concerned when her vehicle’s GPS directed her to search three cemeteries—one in Texas and two in Oklahoma—and she found a new shovel at home.

Frye’s sister also reached out to the police, mentioning a YouTube video where Frye allegedly filmed himself disposing of what he claimed were “Elizabeth’s remains.” The video was titled “Elizabeth is sent behind the FBI fence and forcibly subpoenaed.”

FBI officials confirmed to the authorities that the bucket contained human bones.

In another video, titled “Frye and Balto News! Where to Uncover a Mass Murderer,” Frye can be seen holding a human skull, which he referred to as “Elizabeth Virginia Ryan.” Authorities believe this skull is connected to the body thrown over the FBI fence.

Reports indicate that Frye has a history of theft, having previously stolen an urn in Oklahoma City and a casket from a Denton, Texas mausoleum.

Frye’s legal troubles aren’t limited to this incident; Denton County jail records show he has been arrested over 30 times since 2003, for various offenses including assault, arson, and making terroristic threats.

Interestingly, he once drove a truck into the downtown Dallas police department’s offices in an apparent attempt to attract media attention regarding a 2012 police shooting that claimed the life of his friend. Following that incident, he exited the truck, shouted, and tossed papers onto the sidewalk, which led police to treat his bright orange duffel bag as a potential bomb threat.

Overall, Frye’s actions and the nature of his recent charges paint a troubling picture. Through all this, one might wonder about the motivations behind such bizarre behavior.
