Teen Arrested for Threatening Comments on Social Media
San Antonio police have taken a 19-year-old male into custody after he made threatening comments on a Facebook post related to a prayer vigil at Texas San Antonio University (UTSA) for Charlie Kirk, a conservative figure. He faces serious charges for making terrorist threats. Randy Clark from Breitbart Texas was there to cover the overnight event and spoke with the president of the UTSA chapter of Turning Point USA.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by KSAT 12, Xaelyn Dunbar has been charged following a concerning post on Facebook. The post allegedly suggested he might use a Ford 250 Diesel truck to execute his threat. It appears he implied, “This is dishonorable, and I can now tell you, I can tell you now,” further indicating a motive for his comments.
In response to concerns, officials from San Antonio and Universal City Police conducted a welfare check at Dunbar’s residence. He reportedly acknowledged the reason for their visit and accepted accountability for his post.
It seems Dunbar described his behavior as “silly” and said he was “around the clown,” as reported by KSAT.
Meanwhile, Randy Clark of Breitbart wrote about attending the prayer vigil. He spoke with Jack Harrell, the president of the Turning Point USA chapter, after the event concluded. The candlelight vigil honored the life of Charlie Kirk, who was tragically killed on September 10th at Utah Valley University, just before he was set to speak to thousands of students and supporters.
Approximately 2,000 people came together on the UTSA campus to pay their respects to Kirk. Dunbar will be booked into the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department’s Adult Detention Center, with a bond set at $40,000. If convicted, he could face a range of penalties, from six months in county jail to ten years in prison, depending on the severity of the charges.
