A Texas man was indicted on Thursday for threatening to jail or “kill” an FBI agent over the criminal case against President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, federal prosecutors announced.
Timothy Mueller, 43, is charged with making threatening communications across state lines and “influencing, obstructing and retaliating” against a federal officer.
It was not immediately clear whether Mueller, a Fort Worth resident, had hired an attorney for the lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Prosecutors have referred to Hunter Biden only by his initials, “HB,” but dates in the criminal case against him match those of the president’s son.
According to the indictment, on June 11, Mueller called the FBI agent assigned to investigate Hunter Biden’s laptop.
After the agent hung up, Mueller called again and left a threatening voice message, according to the complaint.
Biden was convicted on June 11 of lying about using illegal drugs to buy a gun.
Prosecutors said Mueller accused investigators of covering up crimes committed by Biden and said FBI agents would go to jail if former President Donald Trump is elected in November.
“Or steal another election and the guns will come out and we will hunt you down and slaughter you in your own homes and in your own beds like traitorous dogs,” Mueller said in the message, according to the criminal complaint.
