Revealing the Source of Spam Texts Targeting Americans

A recent article from the Wall Street Journal has uncovered who is behind the relentless stream of threatening text messages that many Americans have been receiving. This includes ominous alerts about overdue tolls, unpaid postage, and outstanding traffic fines.

According to the report, these messages aim to deceive unsuspecting individuals into divulging their credit card information. The scam artists then use that information to purchase items like iPhones, gift cards, and various goods.

This criminal operation is situated in China and has reportedly generated over $1 billion through this scheme in just three years.

Blaze TV host Liz Wheeler expressed her astonishment at this revelation, stating, “Oh, I think we can all relate to this. Personally, I’ve been getting a lot more of these texts lately—dozens more than I used to.”

The criminals are using what are known as “SIM farms,” which are essentially rooms packed with devices designed to send out mass text messages.

Wheeler elaborated on their tactics, saying, “They’ll send texts warning you that you missed a payment and that if you don’t act quickly—by clicking a suspicious link and providing your credit card info—you could face severe consequences.”

These SIM farms can be found in unlikely places like shared office spaces, rundown houses, and auto repair shops. They function through servers filled with small SIM cards that users can plug into phones to make calls and send messages at scale, as the Wall Street Journal indicates.

Wheeler further implicated the Chinese Communist Party, saying, “They’ve siphoned off more than a billion dollars from us just with this texting scam. Sadly, this is merely one example of the kind of harm these groups are wreaking on us.”

She added, “They aren’t just challenging us as economic competitors; they’re actively trying to undermine the United States and create chaos in our society.”

Wheeler concluded with some strong statements about the broader agenda she perceives: “They’re looking to destabilize our economy and provoke social unrest. Let’s not forget, they even engineered a virus that has affected us greatly.”
