When people think of the most radical left-wing state policies, they naturally think of California, New York, and Minnesota, among others.
But one place people often forget is Maine, the easternmost state in the continental United States.

“Maine doesn't get much attention because its population is so small compared to other liberal states, but the policies of Janet Mills' administration in Maine are as left-wing and radical as Gavin's. “Newsom's policies in California are extreme and anti-American,” Liz Wheeler said. She responded sympathetically to a Maine mother's (@northwoodswifey) TikTok lamenting the free immigrant housing being built in the state.
“I just read that Maine has built 60 new apartment complexes that will provide free housing for migrants, in areas where there is already a housing crisis and people are unable to find housing. ” said @northwoodswifey. “Why aren't we building this facility for the people who already live here?”
Liz has an answer to the TikToker's question, and it's not an encouraging one.
“They're fundamentally changing the entire state through mass migration,” she explains. “They're importing tens of thousands of immigrants into Maine, and according to the governor's goals, up to 10 percent of the population will actually be a different population in a few years.”
“They are literally using Maine tax dollars to pay for free apartments for immigrants while Maine people have been struggling economically for quite some time.”
