Tonight's speech is not technically “union state.” They usually avoid that title this time, as the president has only been in office for a few weeks.

Interestingly, none of the Constitution requires a speech.

Articles 3 and 3 of the Constitution state that “the president sometimes gives Parliament information about the status of the coalition.”

President George Washington made his first such speech in New York, but President Thomas Jefferson halted the practice. He thought he saw it like a speech from the crown.

The “State of the Union” was a document written until the early 20th century. That's when President Woodrow Wilson revived the speech habit after 112 dormant.

President Calvin Coolidge was the first to give the state's first union speech on radio in 1923.

However, the radio tradition really found its foothold in the 1930s.

The theme of Trump's speech to Congress has been revealed

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt learned radio through “Fireside Chat” during Great Repression and World War II. It continued during his latest message.

President Harry Truman was the first to broadcast a speech on television in 1947.

President Lyndon Baines Johnson moved his speech to Primetime in 1965.

President Bill Clinton streamed speeches online in the mid-1990s.

Sometimes the speech itself is not something that is remembered, it is an extracurricular activity.

Renee Skutznik, an employee of the Congressional Budget Office, is immersed in frozen water to save passengers.

Two weeks later, President Ronald Reagan recognized Skutnik by inviting him to the union status as a guest. The President and Congressman – continue this practice.

President Barack Obama spoke to a joint Congressional meeting about Obamacare in September 2009. Rep. Joe Wilson, R-SC, took the president's infamous head and cried out, “You lie!”
