The Israeli protesters trying to stop food aid getting to Gaza – podcast | News

Since the beginning of the year, groups of Israeli protesters have gathered, first on the Gaza border and then in the West Bank, in an attempt to block the flow of food aid to Gaza by lying in front of food trucks and, in the West Bank, attacking trucks and drivers.

Who are these protesters, and why are they trying to block the flow of supplies into the Gaza Strip, where international agencies say some children are already starving? Emma Graham Harrison She spoke to protesters to find out, and she told Michael Safi that while their actions may seem extreme, the idea that no aid should be sent to Gaza is worryingly mainstream in Israel.
