Israeli Forces Use Deception to Target Iranian Military Leaders
On June 13, Israeli forces reportedly employed a deceptive strategy involving fake phone calls to gather top military officials from Iran into a single bunker. This tactic culminated in an airstrike that significantly weakened the Iranian regime.
The Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, is said to have made calls to 20 senior members of the Iranian Air Force, instructing them to attend an emergency meeting in Tehran. Once they convened, the Israeli Air Force executed a precise strike on the bunker, crippling Iran’s ability to respond effectively in critical moments.
A source from Israel stated, “We undertook specific activities that enhanced our understanding of their operations and used that intelligence to influence their actions.” They mentioned that the plan was not only to get the officials to meet but also to ensure they remained in the designated location.
Reports indicate that Iranian commanders were slow to receive orders to launch a thousand ballistic missiles, as they were deceived into thinking they were at risk. While the Iranian leaders were in their bunkers, they issued threats against Israel in retaliation.
Alongside targeting the Iranian Air Force leaders, Mossad allegedly utilized secret drone bases within Iran to disrupt the nation’s air capabilities, enabling Israeli jets to target various military sites.
Furthermore, Israel reportedly carried out airstrikes that resulted in the deaths of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander Hossein Salami and Chief of Staff Ali Shadmani. Shadmani was taken out only days after the previous commander, Goramari Rashid, met a similar fate. Notably, these strikes preceded the deceptive phone calls and misinformation campaign aimed at Iranian leaders.
This conflict has led to the casualties of hundreds of both Israeli and Iranian individuals. As the situation escalates, President Donald Trump is reportedly weighing whether to become more directly involved in the conflict with Tehran, with discussions emerging about a potential U.S. plan to attack Iran, albeit contingent on the hope of negotiations regarding its nuclear program.
The Israeli Defense Forces have not publicly commented on these reports.
