In The Prosecution’s Witness (1957), one of the greatest legal thrillers in film history, a brave defense attorney confronts the prosecution’s star witness with lies in court.

The celebrated barrister, played by legendary actor Charles Laughton, utters two famous sentences that have since been recited by real defense attorneys. do not have He’s a chronic and habitual liar! ”

There is no dispute that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s leading witness, Michael Cohen, is incurably ill and an astonishing liar. It could take an entire day in court just to read out his litany of lies and fabrications.

NY V Trump: How Stormy Daniels self-destructed in a devastating cross-examination

So don’t be surprised if an insufferable Mr. Cohen is bothered by Mr. Lawton’s exact words this week when he is cross-examined by former President Donald Trump’s lawyers.

The weaponization of law or “law” by any means is now justified. It’s a popular currency among Biden Democrats. Adhering to the rule of law is just an inconvenience, an annoying nuisance. It gets thrown away like yesterday’s trash.

Cohen is a disgraced, convicted perjurer who was sentenced to federal prison for telling countless lies over the years. He lied to the bank, he lied to Congress. Yet Cohen continues to lie. His case is pending further referral to the Department of Justice on perjury charges.

For example, six months ago, Cohen admitted that he lied under oath in rescinding his original guilty plea. An enraged federal judge recently accused him of being a “serial perjurer.” Like Mr. Lawton, the judge said he wondered whether Mr. Cohen was lying then or still lying.

Da Bragg was hoping Stormy Daniels would save Trump lawsuit, but something else happened

Cohen is known as Pinocchio’s Witness. His nose is already so elongated that he may have difficulty getting through the courtroom doors when he takes the stand Monday. When he takes a lie detector test, his machine will explode into flames.

For Cohen, it’s not a question of language difference. Whenever he speaks, his statements are either obvious deceptions or obvious lies. Even if he gets his swollen head turned over, he won’t know the truth.

Like Stormy Daniels before him, Cohen thinks he will be hailed as the indefatigable Trump-killer who will save America. In truth, he is a disgusting and pathetic person. He is delusional, arrogant, immoral, vindictive, and dishonest. And this is just the top five in a long list of human suffering.

Legal expert slams Stormy Daniels’ testimony in Trump trial: ‘disastrous’ response ‘backfires’

No ethical prosecutor would have the courage to call such a ticking time bomb as a lead witness. But Mr. Bragg and his team of partisan Democrats are hell-bent on nailing Mr. Trump. They lack the moral code that usually binds government prosecutors.

In the era of Trump, common sense has been overshadowed by the political imperative to neutralize Joe Biden’s opponent in the upcoming presidential election. The dictates of conscience are secondary to achieving the goal of wrongfully convicting an opponent in an election.

The weaponization of law or “law” by any means is now justified. It’s a popular currency among Biden Democrats. Adhering to the rule of law is just an inconvenience, an annoying nuisance. It will be thrown away like yesterday’s garbage.

That’s exactly what Bragg did. His case against the defendants goes beyond anemia. It is a brazen corruption of the legal process.

In order to fulfill a campaign promise to put Trump behind bars, the prosecutor’s office manipulated an inapplicable and expired misdemeanor law to engineer a fake case. And, in his head-spinning pirouette, he usurped federal authority to enforce campaign laws that were never violated.

Look! It’s a criminal case. In name only.

During direct interrogation, prosecutors will likely try to pre-emptively attack and prevent Lawton from being questioned. They voluntarily extract from Cohen the charge of past lying, but try to assuage it in the most innocuous way. Mr. Cohen will assure the jury that he is a reformed criminal and is now sincerely telling the truth.

Sensible people should never believe him.

Trump team claims Stormy Daniels’ sordid affair story keeps changing because they never met

Like Daniels, Cohen has made a career out of spewing hatred against Trump. Indeed, he benefits financially from it. His livelihood depends on it. Therefore, he has every motive to embellish, fabricate, and lie. That’s his only talent.

It is inevitable that Mr. Cohen will be beaten during cross-examination. It’s too easy. There are too many blatant lies that can never be explained or excused. This would not be a beating, but a brutal fistfight.

Mr. Cohen’s recent social media antics may provide useful material for the defense. During the trial he Taken to TikTok While bashing Trump and trolling the dollar. He wore an orange jumpsuit and a T-shirt depicting his former boss in prison. In another appearance, Cohen wore a Superman top because, in his twisted, delusional mind, he sees himself as the superhero in this legal farce. We’re here to save the day!

Basically, Cohen is adamant about acting like a fool, which proves the wisdom of the great American philosopher Forrest Gump, who said, “A fool is as good as a fool.” Masu.

Testimony is now in its fourth week, but none of the witnesses called so far have linked Trump to any criminal activity. Mr. Cohen appears to be the only prosecution witness who can attempt that. Of course he would lie. That’s natural. And that’s exactly what Bragg is hoping for.

By putting on the stand a person who has been proven to be an unreliable liar, the DA’s office is knowingly exonerating the criminal act of perjury. He knew in advance that Cohen would never tell the truth. But who will prosecute Bragg and his co-conspirators?

The question itself becomes the answer.
