The race towards artificial superintelligence has started: Grok 4 has advanced us several steps toward an irreversible point.

On July 9, Elon Musk’s Xai Company introduced Grok 4, an AI assistant touted for its exceptional intelligence in various fields. Musk himself referred to the project as “terrifying,” emphasizing that it should be guided in a positive direction.

There’s a constant stream of AI development news—new chatbot innovations pop up relatively frequently.

But, as Glenn Beck points out, this situation feels different. He emphasizes, “Let me be very clear, this isn’t just a typical tech launch. This is a pivotal moment that requires our full awareness. We stand at a crossroads where exciting possibilities meet significant risks.”

According to Glenn, there are three distinct stages of AI development. Stage 1 is narrow AI, specialized in specific tasks—essentially, where we currently are. The second stage is artificial general intelligence, which can often outperform humans in various intellectual tasks. The final stage, he notes, is artificial superintelligence.

“That’s when things become really creepy,” Glenn remarks.

He explains that artificial superintelligence would surpass human intelligence across all domains—essentially, it could make humanity less relevant.

Glenn warns, “If we hit AGI, the transition to ASI could happen almost overnight. We’re closer to that pivotal second stage than we realize.”

Grok 4 “already demonstrates expertise that exceeds that of doctoral-level scholars,” he claims, offering perfect scores across disciplines like Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering.

Given its score of 16.2% on the ARC-AGI benchmark, which gauges AI closeness to AGI, Glenn believes we’ve reached a critical point: “This is the last year we have before we see really bizarre developments.”

Looking ahead, Musk anticipates Grok 4 will lead to transformative advancements in materials science and other fields, potentially creating “new materials without human intervention.” Predictions suggest that by 2027, we may “rewrite our understanding of the universe” and uncover new physical laws.

“These aren’t fantasies; they’re part of Grok 4,” says Glenn. “It’s like encountering an alien life form.”

This situation represents “Pandora’s Box,” he cautions. “Grok 4 stands as the most significant leap toward AGI and possibly one of the last steps we can take.”
