From the Border Patrol Union leaders to the Angel Family Coalition, President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Building” is said to encapsulate the key elements of his recent achievements with Border Patrol.
Recently, House GOP leadership has revived crucial support for border-related clauses in a settlement package that was approved in May. The Border and Hawks groups are emphasizing increased funding for border wall materials, immigration enforcement personnel, and various other vital financial measures as reasons for the bill to reach Trump’s desk.
Paul Perez of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), representing Border Patrol agents, expressed pride in supporting the House’s One Big Beauty Building Act in a statement. “This law is set to provide a significant investment in border security in our great nation and enhance safety,” he noted. “It plans to deploy thousands of new patrol vehicles and recruits while also improving retention and recruitment through incentives. Moreover, it promises unprecedented investments in physical infrastructure, like roads along the border.”
Specifically, the settlement package aims to fund the construction and enhancement of more than 700 miles of primary walls, 900 miles of river barriers, 629 miles of secondary barriers, and around 140 miles of pedestrian and vehicle barriers. Additionally, it will allocate resources for hiring 3,000 new Border Patrol agents and 5,000 new Customs Field Operations officers.
The “Big and Beautiful Invoice” also strengthens internal enforcement and provides necessary resources for deportees in the United States. The expenditure clause indicates that approximately 10,000 new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and Homeland Security criminal investigators will be brought on board. Furthermore, the law plans for the deportation of at least one million individuals using both ground and air transportation.
“One big beautiful bill” represents more than just legislation. “It’s a lifeline,” stated the coalition of families who lost loved ones to crimes committed by illegal immigrants. “This marks a significant step toward reinstating the rule of law, ensuring public safety, and prioritizing American families over politics.”
They added, “This coalition is our voice, and this bill is our moment.”
Among the angel families advocating for the bill are Alexis Nungarei and Patty Morin, whose daughters, Joselyn Nungarei and Rachel Morin, respectively, were reportedly victims of heinous crimes committed by individuals who entered the country illegally.
Upon returning to the White House in January after experiencing a severe border crisis, Trump wasted no time in focusing on border security through executive orders and other measures. These initiatives have shown success, with Customs and border security claiming “complete control” of the southern border, citing a drastic decrease in illegal encounters and a 95% reduction in the “Gotaway” category, which avoids arrests and is typically linked to higher safety threats. Overall, crossings reportedly decreased by 99.99%.
While significant improvements have been noted at the southern border, supporters of the “large and beautiful bill” argue that the funding package can lead to even greater success.
Emmer stated that those working on border security and deportation efforts, alongside the families affected by crimes from illegal immigration, have placed their hopes on aspects of the One Big Beautiful Bill. “As riots targeting ICE agents persist, the support from dedicated stakeholders for this bill reminds us all of the genuine interests at stake,” he expressed.
