A teacher has been charged with the brutal killings of two parents who were trying to protect their young daughter at Devil Den State Park in Arkansas. James Andrew McGan, 28, is believed to have ambushed Clinton David Brink, 43, and subsequently attacked his wife, Kristen Amanda Brink, on a hiking path last Saturday while the couple’s daughters were safely escaping.
McGan was set to begin his position at Springdale Public Schools next week, just days after the incident. It’s alarming to learn that he has a history of moving from school to school due to allegations of inappropriate behavior.
Principal Dr. Jared Cleveland of Springdale Public Schools stated that McGan had no prior contact with students or their families, as reported by 5 News. Still, it raises concerns, considering McGan has been involved with young children in educational settings across Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas.
Previously, he worked at an elementary school in Texas where parents alleged he had to resign after displaying inappropriate behavior towards young students. One parent, Sierra Malcolm, shared a distressing account on Facebook, recalling how her son and other students reported McGan’s conduct to their principal.
Malcolm mentioned that despite the allegations, McGan was permitted to leave without facing any consequences and continued his teaching career in other states. She described him as “the most standoffish teacher” she had ever encountered, adding that he would respond to questions with minimal interaction, indicating a lack of warmth towards students.
As investigations continue, the motives behind the horrific acts committed by McGan remain unclear, leaving many questions unanswered.
